A walk to the lake (image heavy)

Because it was the first day this year that has broken the 60 degree mark, I decided to take the dogs and my camera on a walk to the lake.

We moseyed along enjoying the view and the sun and the wonderfully non-freezing air. Okay, I Moseyed, they tugged and pulled and gagged like they were shrunken sled dogs.

See...

Mush!
It was a lovely, quiet day in the subdivision. The only thing I could hear (besides Sasha gagging herself) was the wind blowing by and birds calling.

I can't decide if this is charmingly rustic or just fall down ugly
There were a couple guys with a little one already at the lake and dogs were deeply offended by this. Living so far out (heh, far out) and rarely seeing anyone has given the little darlings the impression that all they see is their sole property. They regard everyone/everything else as a trespasser to their kingdom.

Must investigate all the SMELLS!!

The lake was beautiful.

The main section in the center is still frozen but there are large patches of free water

I thought this rock was really cool

I am a rock, but not an island. (never going to get that song out of my head now)
It was really pretty even though there was very little green besides the pines...well and the goose shit.

This picture came out really great, I think.  I held the camera (carefully) at the water line and snapped this, so you are actually seeing under the ice.

The walk down to the little lake is all down hill so the dogs pull me the whole way, just happy as hell and ready to run.  Since we are all lazy butts and don't go walking together regularly, by the time we are heading home and climbing back up that hill everyone is dragging ass. My darling diva has a bum knee sometimes and well, she's my baby, so when I noticed her having trouble I picked her up and carried her the rest of the way home. Thankfully she only weighs 11 pounds. I put her around my shoulders like a lamb, but with wingus and dingus pulling and jerking she started sliding off.  Once she got one foot hooked into my bra (glamorous, I know) and stabilized herself she turned her face into the breeze and just closed her eyes and zoned out.  I could see her face out of the corner of my eye and she just looked so sweet and peaceful riding there.

Well that's enough for now. I have a few more, but it's definitely bedtime so it will have to wait for another day.

  1. Note to self: "Do not put dog capable of hooking into bra upon shoulders."

Back to cleaning I go now….
